Micah Parsons Requests Trade from Cowboys: "No Longer Want to Be in Dallas"
Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons has officially requested a trade, citing failed contract negotiations and frustration with the team’s handling of his situation. In a lengthy statement titled "Thank You Dallas" posted on X, Parsons said he has "no longer" any desire to remain with the team.
Parsons expressed disappointment over "closed-door negotiations" without his agent, criticism over injuries, and negative media narratives. He claimed that despite discussions with owner Jerry Jones in March, there has been "radio silence" from the front office regarding an extension.
The 25-year-old All-Pro is entering the final year of his rookie deal and has been a dominant force since joining the NFL in 2021, tallying 52.5 sacks in 63 games. Parsons’ trade request adds to the Cowboys' turmoil, as fans recently chanted "Pay Micah" during training camp.
Top defenders like Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt secured big contracts this offseason, but Parsons says Dallas refused to engage in serious negotiations. The trade request was submitted directly to executive vice president Stephen Jones.
The Cowboys have yet to respond publicly to Parsons’ demands.
